Mudhra Bhaskar is a rare combination of a cultural organizer, mrudangist, designer and printer. A multifaceted personality with a clear vision, meticulous planning, perfect execution and presentation, Bhaskar strives to achieve excellence in his chosen fields.
As the founder secretary of the organization Mudhra (the only full fledged sabha run by a musician), he has created a sensation among cultural organizations within a short span of time by introducing thought provoking, novel and innovative projects in the field of  Carnatic music.

Mudhra Bhaskar has a number of achievements to his credit. Mudhra which was started in 1995 by Bhaskar with a motto to blend entertainment and education in fine arts has indeed become a cultural movement. Bhaskar has been a pioneer in reviving the traditional four hour concert which has always had an overwhelming response from the audience. Bhaskar also introduced several novel concepts in music like the One Raga-One Kriti festival, Kalpita Festival, Tala Festival, Pallavi Festival, Tamil Art Festival, Janaka-Janya Festival, Pallavi Festival, Tukkada festival etc. Mudhra’s December Fine arts festival which now spans about 35 days features top artists and offers a colourful spectrum of events.

Mudhra Bhaskar has organized several One Day Seminars on topics like Talas and Tala Vadyas, Microphones in concerts, Stalwarts of Yesteryears, Media and Music etc. He along with his wife Dr.Radha Bhaskar has devised a very unique “Music Appreciation Programme”  where in a methodical manner, rasikas are enlightened about the nuances of the Karnatic music system. This programme has been much appreciated and rasikas have attended them in large numbers.

Every year, Bhaskar brings out the much acclaimed Music Planner - cum Directory containing complete database of musicians and music related personalities all over the globe.  Bhaskar is also the Associate Editor of the widely popular fine arts magazine Samudhra, which is creatively designed and printed by him.

He is first person to introduced Gazhals in Tamil in the year 1999, penned and composed by Dr.P.B.Sreenivos and sung by O.S.Arun.

As a mrudangam artist, Mudhra Bhaskar had the opportunity of learning from top artists like Mannargudi A. Easwaran and  Karaikudi R. Mani and now he is undergoing advanced training from Tiruvarur Bakthavatsalam. He has been in the field for the past 30 years and has been accompanying several leading vidhwans. He has won the best mridangist award from Sri Krishna Gana Sabha in the year 1990. He is also the recipient of  the title ‘Laya Vidhyadhara’ from Irai Pani Mandram in the year 2009.

As a Printer by profession, Mudhra Bhaskar is a successful entrepreneur and has been running a printing  unit  “Mudhra Prints” for the past 22 years. The art of web designing and photography is an added credit to his talent. He visualizes, designs and prints for many corportes and artists. He is also the Treasurer of the Chennai Printers’ Association. He got the “Best Printer of the year” from Lions Clubs International in the year 2007 and from Nrithyodaya for designing  & printing of the books "Karanas” by Dr.Padma Subrahmanyam.
In his academic pursuit, Bhaskar is basically a B.Com Degree holder has also completed a Master’s Degree in Rhythmology and aspires to do research on his pet subject of “Sabhas.”

Some titles received by Bhaskar for his service to fine arts are Kala Seva Bharathi (Bharat Kalchar), Sabha Bhushan (Bhairavi Gana Sabha) Sangeetha Kala Seva Rathna (Sri Ragam Fine Arts)  & Kalasevak (Maharajapuram Viswanatha Iyer Trust).
